One thing I liked about Adam Smith was that in the death of his father, when he was only two months old, didn't stop him from pursuing his dreams. Growing up without a father must have been hard emotionaly and finantialy, but with the help of his mother kept him going and eventually wrote one of the first books on economy. I also liked the nerve he had about standing up to the monarchies that had so much power at the time. In his book the Wealth of Nations he criticized the way monarchies ruled and a lot of people these days a affraid to speak out, but Smith was not afraid to speak out and challenge the great power of the time.
